The Minnesota Keystone Program, led by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber, recognizes companies that commit at least two percent of their pre-tax earnings to charitable organizations in their communities.

The program began in 1976, when 23 Minnesota companies created an initiative originally called the “5% Club.” The goal was to recognize corporate philanthropy and encourage other businesses to give back to their communities.
Participants commit to sustaining Minnesota’s tradition of generosity and community engagement.
The program is administered by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber through its foundation initiatives.
The Minnesota Keystone Program fulfills its mission by:
-
Attaining recognition from peers and the community
-
Institutionalizing and leveraging a culture of corporate giving and community involvement
-
Promoting standards for corporate philanthropy through a percent-giving formula
-
Serving as a referral and mentoring network
-
Offering an education and resource-sharing forum for companies

How do you become an honored company?
Each year, three companies are chosen from the ranks of Minnesota Keystone members to be honored for their exceptional giving programs. Historically, one honoree is chosen from each of three categories based on business size: small, medium, and large. Honored companies are selected by a committee of volunteers who evaluate submissions and consider the breadth of each applicants giving programs, including contribution amounts, non-profit partner engagement, community impact, and employee engagement.
Eligible Minnesota Keystone companies have participated in the Minnesota Keystone Program for at least five years. Companies previously recognized as an Honored Company may apply again if they have not won within the past five years.
Applications open mid-Spring
